Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American actor and singer, began with a series of rap songs dealing with issues related to sexuality and race. Her fame grew into Hollywood when she dropped a series of raps. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. In the following years, she took up the classical and hip-hop genres. When she was in the college years, she remained focused on her studies and majored both in women's study as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. She didn't start focusing on music until the time she completed her degree. The song My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity via the Internet in 2012. The track was later included in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. This album also featured songs that were viral such as body positive Queef or the winking city tour New York Bitche$. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in the year 2015, and was an additional project. After a successful career as a singer, she took on the character of actress. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors and Storks. In the year 2018, her breakout roles included Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. It was in June that she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
