Hudson was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of the Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, an actor, comedian and musician.Her parents separated when she was just 18 months old . She and her brother Oliver Hudson, an actor Oliver Hudson, were raised in Snowmass, Colorado, and Pacific Palisades, California by the mother of her and her long-time lover, actor Kurt Russell.Hudson's origins are Italian (from her paternal grandmother), Hungarian Jewish (from her maternal grandmother),and the remainder a mix of English as well as some German.She was born Jewish as was her mother she is also a practitioner of Buddhism.Hudson has stated that her biological father "doesn't know me as if I'm a hole in the wall" and she regards Russell her father.Hudson has stated that her mother is "the person who I've learned the most from and also the one I look up to as someone who's led her life in a way that I can aspire to". Hudson is half-sibling to Emily Hudson and Zachary Hudson. These are the biological parents' subsequent marriages to Cindy Williams and Lalania Hudson. Wyatt Russell was her mother's relationship. She was accepted into New York University but decided to pursue acting instead of getting a degree.
